Trying to locate descendants of Jakob Monsson(1826-1895) and Johanna Knutsdtr(1835-1870) married in 1854 and second wife Ellen Eiricksdatter(1835-1904) that did not immigrate to America and remained in Norway. Records indicate Knut (1860), Karl(1872-1949), Johanna(1874-1923),and Jakob(1879) They hailed from Hosanger, Espeland farm. They would be my grandfather Ole's siblings. Ole immigrated to USA in 1888. Two other siblings Mons(b1855) in 1883 and Sesilia (b1863)(unknown) immigrated to USA. Also half siblings Ingebord(1876) and Sivert(1882) immigrated to USA.
Also trying to locate descendants of my grandmother that remained in Norway. My grandmother was Elisa Knudsd Lindaas (b1866) and she immigrated to USA in 1891. Her parents were Knud Larssen(b1830) and Margreta Monsdater Saltness(b1827) They lived in Mondelgerget and Keilegaven, then Lindaas, farm named Lindaas. Her siblings were Malena Knudsd (b1844) married to Halvor Lindas(father of Jakob, Iver and Martin), Mons(1858), Karolina(1860), Emilia(1862), Karl, and half siblings (mother Gjertrud Saltness) Amelia and Magnus.
We will be in Bergen Aug. 28 to Aug 31, 2005 and traveling to the Lindaas, Hosanger, and Espeland areas hoping to make contact with some relatives. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Your best bet is probably to place an ad in the local newspaper.
Click Here for information a list of newspapers.
You could also place an ad in the Norway Post Click Here To submit an ad click on classifieds in the right column.
