I am trying to find more info. on the NILSEN Family (the last name could have been spelled NILSSEN). Nils Benjamin NILSEN, and his Wife Sophie (Sofie) Andrea (Andersen) NILSEN. I believe that they had four Children together. Nils was born in Dyroy, Norway on July 9, 1836. Sophie was born in Lenvik on June 6, 1841. They were married in Lenvik on Aug. 6, 1862. I would like to know more about Nils' Parents, and Sophie's Parents if possible. Thank you for your help.

Nils birth/baptism record should list at least the name of his father and probably the name of the farm where they were living at that time. Some records will also record the mother - but during that time period it is far from certain. With the name of the father and a residence/farm name other siblings could be searched for in the same parish church records and a record of an earlier marriage for the father would list the name of his wife and possibly give you additional clues as to her parentage.
Dyrø was a parish within the Tranøy clerical district of Troms, Norway (that matches the census entry forwarded by Kåre. The parish church records have been copied onto LDS microfilm and are available for years as early as 1744. Parish records for Lenvik are also available on LDS microfilm and also as early as 1744.

Thank you for the help. I am still trying to get more info. on Nils and Sophie's Parents. I also found out that Simon (their Son) had three other Brothers. Or I think so. Is the name "Ingeborg" a boy name or a girl name? Once again, thank you for all your help.
