| I am trying to find information on by great grandfather who was from Etnedal,Valdres Norway. He was born on 1-6-1836 and married Anne Erickson who was born on 9-24-1849. Anne's parents were Guri and Haldor Erickson and her grandfather was Amund Julsen Steinset. From what I know Ole and annie had two children in Norway, Olianna, born 11-24-1868 and Henry, born 8-8-1870 and emigrated to the United States in 1873. First to Glencoe MN, the Mayville Portland ND, and finally settled near Harvey, North Dakota. More children including my grandfather were born in the United States. Any information on Ole would be greatly appreciated. |

Ole Olsen Thon in 1865 census
His christening in 1836: LDS IGI
He was named after his father's father Ole. His mother's father also was an Ole, so his younger brother was named after him, - Ole.
His mother Olia is devorced "by the pastor" in 1865 census.
His parents marriage in 1831 LDS IGI, "submitted"

Thank you so much "hasto" for such a quick reply to my questions on my greatgrandfather. I had the census narrowed down to probably that one but wasn't sure. I appreciate the help in finding his christening record and everything. I will keep searching for more. Thank you again so much. |
