Hello all,
I'm searching for a Henry Christian Olsen (tended to go by Christian Olsen) born 1848.
Worked as a carpenter on a ship that travelled from Norway to New Brunswick, Canada.
On one journey he decided the ship would not make it back to Norway and so he got off in the Rexton/Richibucto area in southern New Brunswick and stayed. The ship sank apparently killing all aboard.

I have no idea where he might be from, and much of our family history was destroyed when a fire burnt the old homestead in Molus River to the ground.
If anyone has any ideas on where to progress from here or how to search for birth records in Norway I would greatly appreciate it.
Many thanks,
Natalie

The ship apparently sank off Richibucto New Brunswick, Canada (then a large shipping port) in the Northumberland straight.

The age is 9 years. Son or grandson?
