Martinus Halvorson was born on July 3,1865 at Ringsaker, Norway.
He married Karina Olson at Montivideo, Mn.
He passed away on May 9,1942 due to burns when his clothing caught fire.He had a son named Olaf, and a daughter named Olga Bottem (Halvorson).
Karina died in May 1941.
Would like any information on him anyone might have.

Is there a question in there somewhere?

Closest match I can find in Ringsaker, Hedmark, Norway 1865 census -

Acording to Census 1930 he imigrated 1886:

This CAN be the right man; taken from Census 1875 Ringsaker:

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=f70412&gardpostnr=339&personpostnr=2212&merk=2212#ovre

Snilsberg farm is a rather big farm; but of course he could have gone to the US; it was not only poor people who left.

I have been looking for him at the Emigant Archives; no exact result so far.

He didn't emigrate togeter with his parents??
(if he did he probably would have changed his patronym so he had the same as his father)

I have only found one Martinus emigrating from Ringsaker 1885
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=emikra1&sokpostnr=31#a0

but this man has another surname. Of course he or his family could have moved to another farm; then they often changed their surnames.

I think you should put a query here: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebDebatt.exe?slag=listtema&debatt=brukar&spraak=e

If you don't get the help you need; please send me an email at tango oscar dash romeo uniform at online dot no.

I know a genealogist at Ringsaker; he is "the best"!

Sorry; for some reason a wrong link turned up on the emigrant list.

I'll try once more:
