Halvor E. Olson was born in June 1862 in Valders, Norway
He emigrated to the United States in 1870 and lived on a farm near Montevideo, Minnesota.
In 1902 he moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
He died on December 5,1937.
Halvor was married to Lottie Bakken in 1890.
Lottie was born on February 13,1863 in Trysol, Norway. She came to America in 1887 and made her home in Granite Falls.
They had five children: Edwin Olson, Henry Olson, Mrs. Henry Dunn, Anna Collins, and Louis Olson
I am looking for any information on the children of Halvor and Lottie Olson.
These children would be my Great Aunts and Uncles!

No info about their children, but a location of Lottie Bakken in census -1865:
Lotta Larsdatter (2) on the farm Bakken in Trysil, Hedmark.
Parents are Lars Persen (36) and Oline Olsdatter (34). link

There might be information about the earlier family or members who remained in that part of Norway in the series of books entitled "Trysil-boka" 3+? volumes by Eyvind Lillevold.
Emigration records will not have information about children born in the US... you have also posted to US based message boards and forums for the state and county(ies) where they lived? |
