I would like to learn any information about the Elias/Elies and Helena/Helina Jorgenson family that lived in Tyro, MN in 1900. They also lived in Boyd, MN. They had several children, Hilda and George are 2 of them. My grandmother is Hilda. I don't know when they came from Norway or where in Norway and I don't have any idea how to find out. Thank you for any help.

On the 1900 census for Tyro Twp, Yellow Medicine Co, Elies Jorgenson indicated that he emigrated in 1878, 22 years ago. He was born Dec 1851 and was 42 years old and had been married for 19 years.
His wife, Hilma was born in Wisconsin, of Norwegian parents. She had 11 children, 8 who were still living. All the children were born in Minnesota.
The children were George, Oscar, Hilda, Marta, Elma, Arlot, Clarens and Roy
