Hello My name is Jan Johnson , Im from newport, South Wales Uk. I am tracing my fathers side of our ancestry . His Grandfather was Svend Johansen (Samuel Johnson ) born 28th june 1854 Stavanger, Or Christiana or Rogaland? Norway I dont really know how to distinguish between these? I think his Dad was Johannes Johanneson and his Mum was Anna Svennungsdr.. Svend was a Mariner and travelled all over , but he eventually settled in Newport wales Monmouthshire UK, Please would love some help to trace any family or if anybody could help me with any info.
