We are hoping to find out what happend to Guri after she left Trondheim on the Inman Line 26.04.1882. As far as we know she was going to Baldwin, Wisconsin. She might got married when she came to USA, but we do not know...

We need to know her birth year.
The Emigrant Archive shows her age to 39; she was born about 1843.
The tricket was prepaid. Someone waiting for her??

More information about Guri Tilset. She was born 27.12.1842. Horg. She was daughter of Ole Eriksen Tilset b. 1812, and Marit Olsdatter Sliper b. 1817.
Guri had a son called Elias Abelsen Tilset b. 26.03.1877, but he stayed in Norway with the family when she left.
It seems possible that someone were waiting for her, but we have no idea who. Havent been able to find any records of her after she left Trondheim

Here is the link to Emigrants from Trondheim, she is indicated as unmarried:

Guri Olsdatter Tilset is on Rootsweb.com family tree, marriage date looks incorrect, she would have only been 11 years old, son born in 1877, indicates immigration to America but no other information about her. You can contact the poster but it appears this information was based on a published booklet.

What happened to her husband? She had alot of siblings, did any of them emigrate? I could only find Erik Tilset in the 1900 census, unmarried.

Hi all.
I think that the date is the birth date of her "husband" Abel Olsen. Many of her brothers died young, but one of the Ole's went to Tjøstheim (Strand, near Stavanger) with little Elias Abelsen Tilset, he is my great grandfather. I'm not able to find more about Abel Olsen yet, but I think I read somewhere that he died in Norway

Her brother Halver is listed as having married in America. He is living in Moorhead Minnesota in the 1900, 1910, & 1920 census. He lists his immigration year as 1880 or 1881.

Here is Halvor emigrating in 1881 to Moorhead, MN:

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=3&filnamn=EMITROND&gardpostnr=25662&merk=25662#ovre

Halvor was emunerated as Halvor O. Tilseth. Moorhead, MN is in Clay County, the Clay County GenWeb lists Tilseth’s buried at Evergreen Cemetery, a Swedish Lutheran Evangelical Cemetery, Halvor’s wife was Swedish.

http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnclay/?o_xid=0022846411&o_lid=0022846411&o_xt=22846411

He is listed on the MN Death Index as dying on April 7, 1941 in Clay County:

http://people.mnhs.org/dci/Search.cfm?bhcp=1

The Clay County Historical Society has the death certificates and copies of Moorhead newspapers, they could look for a copy of his obituary that could lead to clues as to surviving family members/sisters/nieces/nephews. You have his exact date of death so looking for his obituary should not take too much researching.

http://www.info.co.clay.mn.us/history/

The Clay County Recorders Office has some indexes on line but I could not figure out how to access them:

http://www.co.clay.mn.us/Depts/Recorder/VitalSta.htm

I believe following the trail of Halvor may lead to some clues on Guri and you may find some American relatives.
