You expect photos of each farm to be available online??? I'm absolutely floored. Photos of each farms NOT available in links with census.

Well, it would help if you had continued in the same posting and then people could see the continous thread of information. There are links on this site that could help you locate local societies/etc. that could maybe help find a photo but you must realize that the current farm buildings would not be photos of the old family farms when your ancestors lived, especially from 1854.

In the bygdebok for Strand you might find a photo of the farm.
Good luck

Hopkins, I didnt assume that there were photos of every farm, I was taken to a link which I believe was on the 1865 census, this DID tell me that there were photo,s available it might have been the bydebook ,as Ellen has suggested. Not being familiar with Norwegian sites , you never know what info is held., perhaps when I am an advanced member , I will know a bit better,
jo-anne sorry for posting in wrong link, still finding my feet. Thanks for info. though. Ellen cheers for that , much appreciated. This must have been a similar link, that I read janx

Hi Jan,

No "bygdebok" is online. You will find them at libraries and of course with private persons. If you want to know what is in that bygdebok regarding the Kvam farm at Strand, I suggest you ask here if anyone has a copy and if they can help you with information, photos, names and text.

Good luck
Ellen
