Anna Marie born 5 Jul 1879 at Gran (?), dau of Gudbrand Ostensen/Pauline Andreasdtr Gammelsaether. Adolph born 3 Sept 1887, possibly at Brandbu, son of Albert Nilsen Grenie/Elise Brenden. Anna Marie had a daughter, Borghild, prior to her marriage to Adolph; possibly also a son Ingvald. Family emigrated to U.S. in 1913 w. three children, including daughter Gudrun, age 2.

Dear Jan Peter,
Many thanks for your prompt supplying of copious and most helpful information, filling many long-standing gaps in our knowledge about the immigrant forbears of my wife. Now I hope to find the name of the ship on which they sailed, and where they landed. I am quite certain they landed at Quebec.
Tusen takk, Leonard

I hope it helped you out a little bit...

Adolf's family did really move a lot! I guess it would be related to the occupation of Albert Nilsen Greni, that he was a mason, granitemason.

Based on where the children was born and christened:

1885 Nordre Land, Oppland
1886 Nordre Land, Oppland
1893 Norderhov, Buskerud
1894 Modum, Buskerud
1896 Nitedal, Akershus
1898 Nitedal, Akershus
1900 Nitedal, Akershus
1904 Borre, Vestfold

The note from the 1900 census says he (Albert) had withdrew (?) his membership in the State church, but without entering any other community.

I wonder whether I might impose on P. Hopkins a bit more. Would like the baptism record of Gudrun Emilie, dtr of Adolph and Anna Marie Greni, born on 28 April 1911 at Brandbu, such as was provided for Borghild and Inigvald.
