Released by the British National Archives, passenger lists manifests for emigrants leaving Britain are available online at:

http://www.findmypast.com/HomeServlet

The period covered is 1890 to 1960 with the first decade available now, it is estimated that the entire database will be online by 2008.

This is a fee site for British research but so far the passenger lists are available at no cost. I have not researched anyone so I do not know what information is available but this is a good opportunity to find some of those Norway to Hull to Liverpool/Glascow emigrants.

Postings on other sites state that the "Search" is free but to view the actual passenger lists images, there is a fee.
