The information that has been presented by your amazing tenacity and skills, leads me to think that the Sept. 8th,1805 Juel Olsen and his lineage to the Soelberg Nordere farm in the 1801 census seems to me the most likely at this time also. It also seems as if ALL the possiblities have been thoroughly explored by you.

An Otto Solberg was an very close friend of my grandfathers during the homesteading days. This doesn't provide any proof but it does give me some added confidence because the settlers tended to go where there was family.

Thank you Einar and Kåre for taking up the search and helping to sort out the variable. Your knowledge of the parish records and ability to read some of the notataions is remarkable. I have been doing this for a short time, but I do enjoy it and I learn something each time. It is encouraging to have others share information with you Thank you Delores for entering the search and contributing and sharing.

If you come across anything else that would be of interest or clarification, It would be appreciated. I will continue checking on this topic as I explore.

Having these parish records available in a wonderful thing. In Oslo, I had a chance to take the subway to the RIKSARKIVET / STATSARKIVET and use the microfish to try locate Ringebu information. The librarian showed me how to access the archives from computer and told me of the progress that was being made. I understand that it is completed now.

David,
The family mentioned that was shown in the census is also in my family. I cannot help you with your direct question, but can with generations farther back as a family member from Norway gave me generations going back. My greatgreatgreat grandfather was Amund Julson Solbjor. And your speaking of North Dakota, that is where I am from! I believe you can contact me off the forum here through my profile.
There is alot of information on this family on various sites on the internet also. Kathy
