Thank you so much to everyone who responded to my post. Even though I am having a bit of trouble with the language barrier..lol...your responses were of great help. Perhaps I need to invest in a Norwegian-English dictionary. Thanks again!!!

Use the "dictionary" websites that you'll find through the Links on this page, check just to the upper right of these messages. Those word lists can be quite helpful.
Under the "how-to" articles linked there you will also find help with translations of church record column headings and sections of Norwegian census formats for various time periods
A good Norwegian-English dictionary is always nice to have as part of your home reference library. I like Einar Haugen's dictionary (large green paperback) and I was able to buy it from an online bookstore and have it delivered right to my home.
