My ancestor, Niels Samsonsen Vinje, is listed on the Digitalarkivet as departing Bergen on April 28, 1881 on a ship from the Dominion Line. I've having difficulty tracking down this ship and its destination/course. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,
Greta

I recommend you check on this site for the name of the ship, it would have been a feeder ship, information on the Dominon Line. Check the Index of Departures, you will note at that time, there were not direct voyages from Norway to America. There are many good articles here on the Norway/Hull/North America connection.
