Sorry for misreading the farm name - it is Holtene - not Holteneiet.
Here is Søren and family in 1865 http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=5&filnamn=f60805&gardpostnr=21&personpostnr=193&merk=193#ovre

Some of the Godparents, among the Knight Adeler, was from Gimsø Kloster (Monastery) wher rasmus worde as a servant in 1801

Einar, need help for translating concerning the Godparents, would you pleace give it a try?

Gimsø Kloster 1801 where Rasmus Aslaksen ,age 21, was employeed as one of 330 at Friderich Georg Adeler "Kammer herre, stiftamptmann og ridder", knight working at the royal court as on of the kings advisors acc. ceremonies.

Gimsøy Monastery was build by King Magnus Berføtt (Barefoot)Olavsson´s ( ambushed and killed 1103 in Ireland) Lendermann Dag Eilivsson from Bratsberg about 1100.

The baptism record for Catrine Mathilde says that she was "hjemmedøpt" - baptized at home "af mig" by me. "Foreldre" parents Rasmus Aslaksen og Mathea Olsd. Holtene, Fad. Hr. Esra Adeler, Ha? Adeler, Capt. Nord, alle fra Giemsøe, Hr Inspecteur Høch, Skien, Mad.(am) Arentz, ibd. Mad. Jacobsen og J(om)fr(u). Abel fra Giemsøe.

Esra Adeler the boss himself Friderich Georg Adeler?
Ha? Adeler ?
Capt. Nord must be #280 in the census Niels Christian Nord - he is skipper - captain
Hr Inspecteur Høch must be #1214 in the 1801 census for scheen (Skien) his first name is Jens.
Mad. Arentz - did not find her in Skien, could it be the one in Eidanger #2862 in the census her name Vallentine M. Larsen the wife of Friderik Arentz perpetual curate
Mad. Jacobsen has to be #276 in the census Anne Charine Nord
Jfr. Abel - did not find her at Giemsøe

- Ahh that was a tough one! For the first one "Ha?" I don't have a clue.

#275 Lars Jacobsen Dahl, Giemsøe and #280 Niels Christan Nord were best men at the wedding.

Thank you Einar,
you have impressed me several times interpreting these old letters and words.

These Godparents was for sure not ordinary people.

Accoring Solumslekt neither Rasmus or Anne Mathea´s birth- records exist in the Solum-records, perhaps they was born in another parish?
