Could someone please help me with getting links to census records proir to 1900..I am looking for earlier records for Kristian Martinsen and Mathea Olsen and their children. They were in Vardal on the 1900 census, but I am interested in earlier records, mainly to verify all their children. Thanks for your time and help. I really appreciate it!!!!
P.S. I am also interested in ANY information on the family that you might find..thanks!!!!

Hi,
Christian Martinsen Gjølstad (21) & Mathea Olsdatter Kløften (21) got married in Hof, Hedmark on 01-Mar-1866.
His father: Martin Christensen
Her father: Ole Gutormsen
Marriage #5 here

So they haven't established any family yet in census-1865, which was recorded 3 months prior to the marriage.

Kristian and Mathea can be found at her home farm Kløften in the census, together with her parents Ole Guttormsen & Olea Kristiansdatter.

From LDS:
Olea Christensen, christened 21 MAY 1866 Hof, Hedmark
Martin Christensen, christened 19 SEP 1869 Hof, Hedmark
Karen Christensen, christened 31 DEC 1871 Hof, Hedmark
Milla Christensen, christened 25 JAN 1874 Hof, Hedmark
Olivia Martinsen, christened 06 FEB 1876 Hof, Hedmark

Christian and Mathea had their first child Olea on April 16 1866, nr 51 in the scanned register for Hedmark county, Hof parish - the second child Martin was born Sept 7, nr 57 - the third child Karen was born Dec 7 1871, nr 41 - the fourth one Milla was born Dec 27 1873, nr 3 -and the fifth one Olivia was born Dec 24 1875, nr. 6 .
All children are born at Kløften where Christian is an "inderst" - i.e. he is renting room.

Ole Kristiansen is born 1-May-1878 (christened 10-Jun) in Hof, Solør (Hedmark county).
When he was confirmed on 01-Oct-1893, the family lived on Hunnseie, a small holding under the Hunn farm in Vardal.

Gunda Kristiansen is born 19-May-1880 (christened 20-Jun) in Hof, Solør (Hedmark county).
When she was confirmed on 29-Sep-1895, the family still lived on Hunnseie.

Martin Kristiansen is born 19-May-1883 (christened 24-Jun) on Torkeeie, a small holding under the Torke farm in Vardal.
When he was confirmed on 02-Oct-1898, the family lived on Hunnseie.

Karl Kristiansen Sørlie is born 26-Jun-1887 (christened 28-Aug), also on Torkeeie.
When he was confirmed on 05-Oct-1902, the family lived on the Sørlie farm in Vardal.

Elise Kristiansen Sørlie is born 24-Nov-1891 (christened 7-Feb-92) in Hunn, Vardal.
When she was confirmed on 30-Sep-1906, the family lived on Sørlie farm in Hunn, Vardal.

I think that should be it! 10 children in 25 years should be enough...

(There is a "potensial" gap for a birth at about 1885 and 1890. I have checked the confirmation records, and could not find any more children there. You have of course the chance of cot death etc...)

Emil Olsen (from the 1900-census) is born 9-Mar-1898, and is the son of roadman Ole Amundsen Sveum (b.1876, residence Ødegaardseie) from Vaage and servant Gunda Kristiansdatter Hunnseie, born 1880. Both their first illegitimate child.

Since Kristian & Mathea got a Martin both in '69 and '83, chances are that the first Martin died young.
