Between 48 and 49 is Peder Olsen born 27 Mar 1878. Was he born out of wedlock and I can see that his parents are Ole ? and Mari Pedersdatter. Can someone please tell me what the whole thing says for the parents only? I can't tell what the words are.

Thank you so much!

Tami

The parents are
husb(ond) Ole Hansen Bøljets i Fron og h(u)st(ru) Mari Pedersdatter, boende begge paa det gamle wærk i Espedalen
27-29, gifte i 6 aar
In English
husband Ole Hansen Bøljets in Fron and wife Mari Pedersdatter, both living at the old plant in Espedalen
(Ole) 27 years - (Mari) 29 years, married for 6 years (Peter is therefore an "ægte" child.
(The first godfather is most likely Oles father)

Iver Forseth has written a book about the old nickel works in Espedalen.

The Espedalen valley in Oppland, about 180 km north of Oslo, is historically known for it's old nickel mining industry that lasted from about 1847-1878, with operation specifically in Vassenden. Iver forseth, who has lived in the area all his life, provides historical background on the area as well as interesting information on "Nikkelverket i Espedalen," (The Nickel Industry in the Espedalen Valley).
