I am looking for information on my grandfather Lars Christian
Andreassen who was born in Vanse, Farsund, Norway on
Jan. 22,1876. Lars was the son of Andrias Larsen and Juliane
Tomine Syvertsen b. 1845 in Skeime. died 1915. Andrias born 1840 in Kvilijo died in 1909, Lars C. emigrated to the Us in 1895, and in 1902 married my grandmother Selma Oline Berntsen from Mandall. Lars died in a ship wreck in Lake Erie
in 1909. Any information anyone has would be so much appreciated, thanks Jan Stalnaker, Florida USA

In Listabol/bygdabok I found your Julianne Tomine Syvertsen, b. 1847 on øvre Skeime. Her parents were Syvert Bernt Gabrielsen (1811-1864) from Jølle (another farm on the Lista peninsula) and Anne Serine Andersdtr (1805-1895).

Anne Serine Andersdtr. was born at Aamland (I can't remember how to make the A with a circle over it, but the sound aa makes is the same vowel sound) Amland is also on Lista.

In 1834 Ole Jensen sold his farm on øvre Skeime to Andreas Johannessen - he was a tailor - and not from the Lista penninsula. In 1833, when he was 36 yrs old he married Anne Serine. They had a son named Kristian in 1836, but he died of smallpox in 1838. Andreas Johannessen had died the year befoe in 1837.

Later in 1838 Anne Serine had another son who she also also named Kristian. This baby's father was another tailor named Erik Jønsberg, he was from Sundsvaal i Sweden. They never married. In that same year, Anne Serine married your ancestor Syvert Bernt Gabrielsen from Jølle.

If you're still interested, I'd be happy to go further back in Anne Serine's family and Syvert Bernt's family.

I have found Andreas Larsen in two different places, born 1835

Andreas Larsen born at Kviljo 1835 - 1909
In 1864 he bought a farm at Neseim
In 1871 - Married Juliane Tomine Syversdtr born at ø.Skeime (1847-1915)
Their Children
Georgine Kristine 1872-98
Syvert Andreas 1873-1941
Lars Kristian1876 - out of country - your grandfather
August Julius 1878 -
Oline 1881 -
Severine Kristense 1884 -
Bendikte 1890 - 1924
Teresa Amalia 1894 -
The farm where they raised their children was at Neseim. It was sold in 1907

Note Kviljo and Neseim are neigboring "farms" - a collection of houses and farms - maybe that's a village or a parish.

And from another source, I have been able to trace your Lars Christian Andreasen (1876-1909) back to 1662

Osmund Kristensen b. approx 1662
1695 married Turid Petersdtr from austre (E.) Hauge (1674-1747)
Their children
Anna, Mari (married to Neseim), Kristen (died at 2 ys) , Kristen, Petter (never married) Tønnes, and Hans Elias [note: n is a man's name]
Osmund and his oder brother borrowed/spent a lot of money to buy a farm at Kviljo - they leased out a lot of the property. When he died Osmund was considered wealthy.

Osmund's son Kristen Osmundsen (1706-1784) inherits the farm. Kristen married Karen Handtr - she died early 33 1/2 yrs old in 1746, apparently in childbirth.
Their children Osmund, Katrina Marie, Helena Pernille, Tønnes, and Karen.

In 1748 Kristen Osmundsen married 2nd time to Bente Cicilia
øyvindsdtr (don't know how to make an upper case ø). She was from Kviljo 1727- 1774.
Their children Karen, Even aka øyvind, Elen Antonette, Osamund, Hans Kristian, Elisabet Rosendal, Kornelius, Peter Tobias.
Bente Cicilia dies

In 1775 Kristen Osmund married a 3rd time - to Anne Danielsdtr, she was the widow of Villum Syvertsen from Hananger (another neighboring farm). At this point he was considered as financially well off as his father had been. When his first wife died he got a farm free from mortgages. He also owned a boat with 6 sails, and an apparatus to make alcohol. When his second wife died he got her father's farm too. Half of this farm went to his daughter Karen and her husband Syvert Kristensen from Midthassel.

Bu the way, the farms in order of location go Hanangr, Kviljo, then the Hassels (vestre, midt, austre)

When Kristen Osmund died, his daughter Katrina Marie (from his 1st marriage) was married to Knud Fleseland, from Spangereid - which is a town between Farsund and Lyngdal. They had 5 children: Abraham, Kristen, Arian, Katrine & Anne. The son Kristen got his maternal grandmother's farm at Kviljo.

Kristen Knudsen (1766-1854) born on Fleseland farm at Spangereid moves to Kviljo in 1787. In 1793 he married widow Olena Ariansdtr (1763-1847) from Jøllestø - also on Lista, but far around the other side of the penninsula. Their children were Trina Marie (who married a man from Jåtog, near Jøllestø), Elisabet (married to a man from Skeime), Lars Kristian (1801-1889). Anne Malene and Arian.
Kristen Knudsen and his wife Olena lived at her farm at a place called Håle, also on Lista, but I don't know where. So they owned the Håle far, the farm inherited from Kristen Osmund, and they bought a farm at Kviljp from the sea captain Lars Ariansen. In 1825, Kristen Knudsen drew up the legal documents splitting gis property between his sons Lars Kristian and Arian.

In 1827 Lars Kristian Kristensen married Grethe Kristine Andersdtr (1802-1892) from Nordhassel.
Their children
Oline
Lars Kviljo
Severine
Andreas (to Neseim) 1835- this is your ancestor
Kristiane
Ole Jakobi
