mailto:<Gene Norum> haggar35@hotmail.com

I have previously identified a missing branch of the NORUM Family. Now I am searching for the Nelson Branch.
Martin Norum married EMMA CHRISTINE NELSON. Whose father 'CHRISTOPHER NELSON born October 1845 in Norway.

Christopher married Julianna M. ?,( born: October 1848) in 1874 and emigrated to the US in 1883.

The 1900 US Census lists Christopher, his wife Julianna and his children as residing in Prarie View Twp., Wilkin Cnty, MN.

I am gathering my data on their movements in the US, but am having trouble locating his origin in Norway.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated

After a popular vote in the year 2000, Vestre Toten municipality had to hand over a part of the township Kolbu to Østre Toten municipality.
So Torgunrudhagen are now in Østre Toten, while Lundvollen still are a part of Vestre Toten.

Juliane Marete was born Oct 2 on the farm "Ødegaarden -Aamot", see #123 http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=520&idx_id=520&uid=ny&idx_side=-44

In the parish record of the marriage #22 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8965&idx_id=8965&uid=ny&idx_side=-230
it says that Christoffer was born at Müste and that Juliane lived at Grumheten and was born at Aamodt.

Julianes mother Ida Dorthea was born Oct 15 1820, #10 (on the right side of) http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=7584&idx_id=7584&uid=ny&idx_side=-46
She was baptized at home by the parish clerk Johannes Haukelund, confirmed in the church Dec 31 1820. The father was Jens Christiansen, Fagermoen and the mother Andrine Larsdtr. Bunæs.

No scanned birth record is available for Julianes father but from the marriage record #11 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=520&idx_id=520&uid=ny&idx_side=-191 we find that Jørgen was born at Aas under Trosterud på Rømskogen and lived at Ødegaarden - his father was Nils Engebretsen. Ida lived at Fossen under Bunæs.
