I get so many good replies on this forum from all you helpful friends... So I try again:

Jacob Johnsen b. 05.05.1860 emigrated to New York 25.03.1882. The Line: Fr. Lie The Ship: Hekla.

His brother: John Johnsen b. 24.06.1864 emigrated to Clear Lake 23.06.1886. Line: Fr. Lie Ship: Geiser.

And then their parents emigrated 24.06.1887 to Clear Lake, Line: Helgesen Ship: Rollo. Their names:
John Jacobsen b.18.09.1829
Ragnhild Olsdatter b. 1822
This family came from Lom, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway.

I dont know where they settled. It seems to be several Clear Lakes....I wonder if the brothers got married and had children. Maybe anyone can help?

Now in the 1910 census in the same place, the family is listed as: Jacob age 49, Anna age 49, Joseph age 25, Rena age 23, Jennie age 22, Sena age 20, Christian age 18, Ray age 16, Ruth age 14, and Gladys age 10. Obviously names have different spellings in each census, but I think this is the correct person!!

They are still in the same place in the 1920 census.....however, Jacob must have died between 1920 and 1930, because Anna is still living in Clear Lake, but she's by herself.

Looks like Joseph Johnson married and Edna. In the 1930 census in Mason City, Iowa it shows: Joseph age 45, Edna age 39, Donald C age 18, Everett P age 17, and Kenneth J age 5.

In the 1930 census Chris age 39 is married to Lillian E age 39, with 1 child, Merrill W age 6. They are also in Mason City, Iowa.

In the 1930 census, Roy is still single living in Mason City, Iowa.

I found a death record for Merrill W Johnson: birthdate is 22 Nov 1923 and died on 19 Dec 1995 in Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa.

Clear Lake and Mason City are very nice areas in Iowa.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerro_Gordo_County%2C_Iowa
A fairly recent telephone directory indicates at least two columns of Johnson entries in Mason City and almost a column long listing of Johnsons in Clear Lake.
If you are hoping to find living descendants of the Johnsons you mentioned you might try writing a "human interest story" letter to the local newspaper - The Mason City Globe Gazette, 300 North Washington Avenue, P.O. Box 271, Mason City, IA 50402
They also have a website - http://www.globegazette.com/

You might also contact the local genealogical society - North Central Iowa Genealogical Society, Box 237, Mason City, Iowa 50402-0237
http://ncigs.org/

This appears to be a good collection of Internet links for Cerro Gordo County Iowa -

In the 1910 census for Jacob Johnson, on the same page is his brother John Johnson and family.

John, age 42, immigrated from Norway 1886, farmer
Elsie, wife age 42 born MN, wed 19 years, 5 children, 5 living
Lilian, daughter, age18, born IA
Edwin, son, age 16, born MN (interesting, not born in IA)
Elma, daughter, age14, born MN
Jewely? daughter, age 12 born MN
Mabel, daughter, age 6, born IA

I'll try and find them in MN.
