I saw what could be my ggrandfather Amund Amundsen on your transcript of the Superb's (May-July)1849 voyage from Skien to N.Y. However, I did not find the name in the original manifest. Is it complete?
I also visited the Ancestry .com site and NY passenger lists, where I found the original manifest for a ship Superb arriving N.Y July 19,1849. I was suprised to see that it contained only British passengers. Were there two "Superbs"? There was no indication in their index of a Superb arriving from Norway?
Thanks for any help you can provide.....Butch

There were two files with an error in the link for the scanned list page. Now fixed. You will be able to find the name on the list now. I do not know much about the Ancestry.com material, as I am not a subscriber. However, Superb was a popular name for a ship, and most likely there were several ships by that name.

The vessel arriving on July 19, 1849 was the "Ship" Superb, from Glascow and only carried British passengers.

You will find the "Bark" Superb arriving on July 2, 1849 on the Ancestry.com database but the name of the ship is indicated incorrectly in the index as Rupert (old style handwriting).
