Hi i am searching for any relatives of Ole Olsen ,i know he had at least one child Thomas Olsen who was born in Haus Hordaland in 1848. Thomas came over to the Uk and in 1876 he married Agnes Emma Cook they had four children one of which was Alice who was my grandmother it would be great to trace my Norwegian roots thanks! |

I think your dates are off, because you have Thomas getting married, before he is even born.

This "could" be his parents in the 1865 census, something to keep as a possibility. Ole is not listed as a blacksmith, though it could be his secondary occupation:
1865

His birthdate reads October 26, 1848.
Ole & Martha got married in 1847, so her farm of origin should be stated in that marriage record. It looks like Hovden, which is a farm in the area.

It was this record which said 1847, but I found other sources now which actually says 1851...
Strange if they married in 1851, taken into consideration Johannes' chr record from 1845, where he is listed as a legitimate child...
Ole Olsen, chr 22 Feb 1813, Thunes, Haus, Hordaland. Parents: Ole Magnesen & Anna Olsdatter Marthe Johannesdatter, born 16 Dec 1822, chr 25 Dec 1822, Haus, Hordaland Marriage: 16 Jun 1851, Haus, Hordaland Link1 Link2 Link3
The marriage record says R鷣land as birthplace for Marthe Johannesdatter, while in the birthrecord for her son Johannes her birthplace is listed as Hovden...
Could it be 2 different couples? Their age look right, comparing their age from the 1851 wedding record an the 1866 census from Thun犘 store.

There was more than one couple Ole Olsen and Martha Johannesdatter in Haus parish. Knowing that Thomas was born Oct 26 and that the Johannes above had parents with the same names it is most likely that the right "Ole" and "Martha" could be Olav Olavsen and Marta Johannesen found at a search in LDS - Olav was born 1805. Their son Olav Olavsen - ie Ole Olsen can be found at Hovden in the 1865 census. |
