I've found my g - g grandfather's marriage record in the Svatsum in Gausdal parish records, number 8 on the linked page. Would you please help me with the interpretation of what it means. I'm guessing that "Hoele" is a farm name. I'm not sure what the "687" means in the seventh column. Are witnesses in the fourth column and does it state any relationship?

Here's the link: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20070201630662.jpg

Thanks a lot for your help.('')

Hoel(e) - most likely one "e" too much - is the farm were they stayed/lived when they got married. Iver is 24 years old and Anne 21 years. The witnesses Hans Andersssen, Bakke and Gunder Anderssen, Bakkum does not seem to have any relationship to either Iver or Anne. The number 687 is the page number of a register the minister held. Seek the page number and you will find that the marriage record is on page 390.

Witnesses or best men, - close enough. No relationship noted.
You'll learn more about those 'best men' in the article on Parish church records from 'Links' above right.
