We are holding a family reunion on Sunday and I am putting together information on my family that originated from the Vik area. Is there a place where I could copy a map showing the names and location of the farms around Vik - Hove, Seim, Tistel. Thank you for your help.

Have you tried http://ngis2.statkart.no/ng2/ng2.html ?

Click on the British flag for English and then put in the farm names. Select the farm that comes up that says it's in Vik. I was able to put in all three farms and see them, so good luck. I'm not sure how you would print that off or if there is a better place to use.

Hopefully, someone else more knowledgable with the use of maps of Norway can be of assistance.

Maybe this is of interest for you http://www.bygdebasen.no/
and maybe this map http://visveg.vegvesen.no/visveg-klient/VisVegAppletEnIE.html
- use the english version - enter "Seim Vik" where it says Find a place - move both size and get the marker for Seim in the upper right hand corner and you shoul be able to get Tistle in the keft hand lower corner - Hove is somewhere in the middle.

Here is a third option.
Enter the map:
http://kart.finn.no/
and write Vik in "sĝk etter sted" and enter sĝk, enter Vik (kirke), Vik church, line 12 and watch Hove down page, dobbelclick on Hove, change to satelitt and watch the farm from the air.
Return to Vik, zoom out twice and dobbelclick in the area between Bĝdalen and Hopra, zoom in and watch Tistel.

Navigate and seek for Seim.
Good luck

Sognafoto has pictures of every farm in Vik.
http://www.sognafoto.no/kyrkjer/

Enter Vik- Alphabetically - Categories and farms. There are several pictures from Seim, Hove and Tistel in the register.
