I found one in the 1900 census: S Jesperson b Mar 1855 in Norway, Lena b Sep 1866, Lena b Sep 1891, Camilla b Nov 1892, Harry b Sep 1893, and William b Jul 1897, all children born in Illinois. Could this one be him?
According to the World War I Draft Registration Card, his birthdate is 23 Jul 1897. |

I found a death record for S Jespersen 21 Nov 1902 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois and Lena (Lillian?) died on 13 Mar 1944. I can't find anything for William. Harry Jespersen was b on 17 Sep 1893 and died on 3 Feb 1979 in Florida. Lena daughter b 19 Sep 1890 died Jan 1977 in Chicago. She married Edwin L Droege. |

Thanks a lot for your information. You have found the right people since I know that Lena (daughter) married one Edwin Droege. You found a death record for William`s brother Harry, but not for William. Can that mean that William did`t die in the US, or maybe in an other state or country? |

I did find a William Jespersen who died on 20 Jan 1927 in De Kalb Co, Illinois. It may be the one. I could find him in the 1900, 1910, and 1920 census, but I couldn't find him in the 1930 census. So, he may have died before 1930.....he may have moved from Cook Co, Illinois to De Kalb between the 1920 and 1930 census. |

Thanks again for your information. From that it seems likely that he moved to another County and I am pretty sure that you have found the right man. Did your sources give any further information regarding that William who died in De Kalb County was married or had any children? |

The American census is every 10 years....so, he wasn't married in the 1920, and if he died before the 1930 census, I wouldn't be able to find anything out, unfortunately. Maybe someone is related to him and will look into this forum, then they would be able to tell you something. Sorry I can't help you more with William. |

William Jespersen had an older sister called Camilla Jespersen, born in november 1892, Cook County, Illinois. She is mentioned in the US 1910 Census working as an office clerk, 18, living at home with her mother Lena Jespersen, born 1867, Bergen, Norway and her brothers William (above) and Harry. In the US 1920 Census she is gone, either dead or married during those ten years. Anyone who can help trace her? |
