Thank you for the interesting info and translations.
I am surprised that neither of Lars' brothers went to America. I always heard the story about him coming over with his two brothers and they established Hitterdal, MN. It looks like his brothers remained in Norway.
Were the Feragen and Hitterdal farms in the same part of Norway? (Roros Copper Mine & Feragen Smelting)
Karto- The link you attached regarding Casper Jorgenson's parents #23. What is the wife's name? Also are the names listed below their children? If that's when Casper was christened, when were his parents married? |

Hi, perhaps they did after their mother died 1905, I can take a look up later this evening.
Feragen is about 15-20 US miles east of Røros almost next to the Swedish border north of Lake Feragen. Hitterdal country side is betwen Røros and Feragen. Enter Røros World Heritage and click on "start the animation.." and reaching 1660 (the line on top) Feragen is visible in the map.
Try this Map clear the window, write hitterdal kapell, press "Søk" and watch the area where the "Tørrisvold" people lived.
Write brekkfjellet, press "søk" Enter brekkfjellet, Røros, zoom minus once and watch Feargen down left Navigate by dobbelclik twice left and zooming. Change to satelite and watch the district.
The link I attached was #23 Jørgen Caspersen Feragen´s parents Casper Jørgensen Feragen and Gertrud Hendriksdatter. The next are the Godparents: Arne Jacobsen Kuraasen Moens Jørgensen Feragen Peder Johnsen Maritte, Arne Jacobsens ..(wife?) Anne, Moens Jørgensens ..(wife?) Anne Estensdatter Buk
Few wedding records are available from Røros 1779, perhaps the only records is the note in the christening ceremony from March 28.1793. Dåp is Christening Vielse is marriage.
Good luck
