I need some help with these people;
Amalia cecilia Olsen(olsdatter) born 22 june 1876 and her sister Anne Martine olsen born 15 march 1865 .
Birthplace Møskeland,Lyngdal in Vest Agder, both emigrated to Usa.
I have not found out when, but both were back in Norway on visit before 1909-
the story says that Anne Martine had her little child with her, (she was married to Hans Hansen Havig from Spind,Lyngdal. He emigrated in 1889.He arrived in NY 10 oct 1889-ship Teutonic)
and that they all got sick on the ship back to USA.
Probably food poisening, and they died shortly after returning to USA.
I would like to know when they arrived in New York, where they lived, died,

The Teutonic ship's manifest has his name written as Hans Harvig.

There is a Hans Harvig in the 1895 Wisconsin census, for Burnett County, town of Granstburg. But this person is listed as a US citizen, unmarried, and no age is given.

You will need some lookup help for Lyngdal, in Vest Agder, since their records are not on line yet.

Do you know if the parents of Anne and Amalia were Ole Christensen and Anne Olsdattter? They can be found in the 1865 census of Lyngdal.

That is correct; the parents are Ole Christiansen and Anne Elisabeth Olsdatter, and I do belive that Hans and Anne not yet were married when he left Norway.
I have found one Amalie Olsen and one Anne Olsen leaving Kristiansand 10 july 1893 on the Thingvalla- and I do have a feeling this must be the Olsen sisters- even though the birthdates are not quite right-(says 1873 and 1864)
As you mention the church records for just this period is not on line yet- that would have been a great help- but if they went back on visit sometime before 1909- is there any chance of finding them in the passenger lists?

A Hans "Haavig" is in the town of Grantsburg, Burnett Co., Wisconsin in the 1900 US census. Listed as born March 1813 in Norway, a widower and immigrated to US in 1881. He is the father-in-law in the household of Peder Jacobsen and his wife Anna (b. Sept 1852 in Norway).

Here is Amalia's confirmation record, which indicates she was born in July, rather than June. And her middle name is spelled Secilia.

Close, just another confusion factor.

I have seen that, but it doesn`t really matter-does it? Not for this search, I mean-
I have been searching all day, but no luck. I do belive that they stayed in the area New York or Washington-
