Consider message boards about Sweden -
http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.scan-balt.sweden/mb.ashx
http://genforum.genealogy.com/sweden/

Or perhaps you'll find something here -

Mr. Hopkins:

I have looked into some of the census reports, but to continue for a days work, I wold have to pay through the nose and get a long time subscription.....

It looks like I'm going to be going to Slat Lake in the near future and look at the records for free and see family at the same time.......

Yes, I think that the census would give me a starting time and place and a sense of direction to go....... I will look the records....

Great help and ideas.....
Thank you, Larry

I don't think that census indexes or actual census pages are going to help you with the Swedish emigration records you asked about. Except that they might help you narrow down an immigration year to the US.

Online Ancestry.com census indexes are sometimes available through a public library. The FHL and various FHC locations no longer have complete access to Ancestry.com -- but some have arranged HeritageQuest listings instead.

Bolly,

There are a lot of members of this forum who have subscribed to Ancestrry.com and other web subscription web sites for tracing ancestors. When this web site is given some basic information to search for names, immigration, place of birth, etc., a lot of volunteers will try to help, all for free!
