Hi folks,
I've found a passenger list of interest on Ancestry, but it's recorded as a journey from Glasgow & Larne, Ireland to New York - arriving November 1st 1879. Looking at the State of Georgia records on this site, it looks like this date must be incorrect, or theres a missing trip?
1879 Glasgow New York May 28 1879 Glasgow June 27 New York July 08 1879 Glasgow Aug. 01 New York Aug. 11 1879 Glasgow Sept. 05 New York Sept. 16 1879 Glasgow Nov. 21 New York Dec. 03 1880 Glasgow Mar. 27 New York Apr. 09
Does anyone have any suggestions or suggested solutions, next steps? Thanks in advance for any advice, this is my first hun tthrough the passenger lists!

You've seen the ship's passenger list on Ancestry and you can easily see the date as November 1st. Looking at the dates listed on this site, I would think that there is a gap between the September arrival and the December arrival. Since it seems to have taken 10 - 12 days to make the trip, they would of had plenty of time to sail from New York, back to Glasgow after November 1st and still make it in time for the return voyage on November 21st.
If you're certain that it's the right person that you found on the passenger list, then I would think you are correct. Have you found him/her on an Emigranter list from Norway? That would tell you the date that they left Norway and you'd be able to match it with the dates of the State of Georgia leaving Glasgow. If you have any questions about the Emigranter lists, just post your questions here.
Good luck! Wanda
