Greetings,

My great grandfather emigrated from Trønhjem to New York twice.

Åge Edvard Hansen (Aune)

Once in 1897 with his wife Anne (17 March 1897)...

...they had 3 children in NY. The oldest drowned in 1901, so the family moved back to Norway where Åge took over the family farm in Aune, Ørland.

They had 3 more children in Norway. Then the youngest child (who was named after the first) died in 1908.
So they moved back to America to stay:

First Åge (29 April 1908):

Then Anne and children (6 June 1908):

The emigration records show the Tasso as the ship, but show Cunard as the line-- this site shows Tasso as a Williams ship.

I also learned here that the Tasso went from Trøndheim to Hull, and then the passengers may have gone to Liverpool to board a ship to America.

Surprisingly, there are no Ellis Island records that I could find for either of their voyages-- but I don't know what ships they traveled on.

So, my question:
Is there any way to find which ships/lines they traveled on from England to New York?

If the Emigration records are correct in including "Cunard", does this mean they must have traveled on one of the ships listed here?:

... and if so, is there a resource for the passenger lists for these ships?

Thanx for any help.

~Thor Hansen
