My name is Marlene Haroldson and my Grandfather, Hans Kristian Hansen (Lukasstuen) Haraldsen emmigrated to America in 1904 with his wife Berit and two sons Harold and Nils, also a Brother Harald Hansen Haraldsen. I am looking for information on his father Hans Andreas Haraldsen and wife Karen Mathea (daughter of Mads Svendsen. My Grandfather Hans Kristian Haraldsen had 9 siblings, Karen Mathea, Andreas, Johan Martin, Sofie, Martinus, Peter, Nicoline, Anton Mariel and Harald--two of his other Brothers also emigrated to American, they were Peder Hansen (Haraldsen) and Anton Mariel Hansen (Haraldsen). I would appreciate any information of this family or living descendants that are still living in Norway. They came from Dokka and several are buried in Ostisnni Cemetery at Dokka, Nordre Land.

It helps to get some dates of birth. Hans Kristian and family emmigration records provide the following:

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetailsprint.asp?titleno=758263.

The correct web site is this one:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=4&filnamn=EMIOSLO&gardpostnr=161472&sokefelt=skjul

Here is the page for Harald Hansen:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=7&filnamn=EMIOSLO&gardpostnr=161509&sokefelt=skjul

1900 Census for Hans Andreas and Karen Mathea, and four of their children.

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=60&filnamn=f00538&gardpostnr=735&sokefelt=skjul

I'll add the birth record for Andreas, born 7 September 1870. Evidently the census record birth for Karen Helene of 1870 is wrong.

Marriage record for Hans and Karen. Bottom of the page, #35,
30 Dec. 1868. Need some expert help to verify Hans' fathers name is Harald Johanssen.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8981&idx_id=8981&uid=ny&idx_side=-161

Their first born is Kristine, born16 July 1868.
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8981&idx_id=8981&uid=ny&idx_side=-69
Can I add another one here, without confusing everybody. I think I found Kristine's death record of 13 September 1868. Go to line #33.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8981&idx_id=8981&uid=ny&idx_side=-191

I'll add another one to this post. Their second born is Kristine Marie, b. 13 August 1869.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8981&idx_id=8981&uid=ny&idx_side=-77

Karen Martheas baptismal record is
#52
she was born Febr 28 and baptized March 15 1846, parents being Mads Svendsen and Anne Jørgensdatter, Schee.
Harald Johnsen and Karen Pedersdatter were married in 1833, see #36
Haralds parents can be found from his baptismal record, see the third from the bottom, right hand page, here

Les,
The first born you point out is not correct, her mother is Karen Marie Kristophersdatter, Lovmoen, the parents can be found from the 1865 census, see here
Kristine Marie has the same parents at Lovmoen.
Karen Helene was born in 1869, see #34
her mother has a wrong name here, Hansdatter in stead of Madsdatter but the farm Gaarder is right.
Martinus was born in 1879, see #22
Peter was born in 1881, see #52
and Harald was born in 1887, see #11

Here are two more brothers to Hans Andreas Haraldsen.

Peter, born March 14, 1835, entry #75.
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9359&idx_id=9359&idx_listetype=dp&idx_kjonn=&uid=ny&idx_side=-32

Johan, born August 6, 1839, entry #129
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9359&idx_id=9359&uid=ny&idx_side=-76

There is a Johan Haraldsen in the 1865 census, line # 4791.

Hans Kristian Hansen and wife Beret Olsdatter in the 1900 census.

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=28&filnamn=f00538&gardpostnr=736&sokefelt=skjul

I think this is Berit's birth record 28 June 1879 from Øystre Slidre.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6136&idx_id=6136&uid=ny&idx_side=-26

If I read her Father's name as Ole Torgrimsen, he can be found in the 1865 census.

If I read her Mother's name as Ingeborg Kristoffersdatter, she can be found in the 1865 census.

Searching the US censuses turns up Zilch. They must have went to Canada. There was a Hans J. Hansen in Chicago that was close, but he had a first son named Odd.

All of the following has been redone.
Hans Kristian and Berit had a son Harald, 6 months old in 1904, his birth record is #1
parents being Hans Kristian Hansen (1876 - 1867 is wrong) and Berit Nilsdatter (1879), (not Olsdatter!) living at Grangaard.
Their son Nils is #14
the parents were then at Jettestuen.
Their marriage record is #5
Hans Kristian came from Gaarderejet and Berit from Robøle Ø. Slidre.
Berits birth record is #49
her parents being Nils Nilsen and Marit Knudsdatter.
Nils and Marit in 1865 here
and their marriage record #13
Marits birth record is
#3
parents being Knud Jensen and Kari Johannesdatter.
Nils birth record is #60
parents being Niels Nielsen and Groe Østensdatter.
Gro Østensdatter in 1865 is here
