She has a 3 yr old younger brother John Eriksen...

His parents are living on a farm called Ljøen (nedre) & Ljøvig øde in census-1865.

Ole Helseth (21) from Sunelven, Møre Og Romsdal, emigrated to Minneapolis on April 2nd, 1890.
(Same date as his future wife Synøve Eriksen Voldsether (Signe/Sina Helseth), she is listed just above him)

The 1900 census for Sunnelven has Elias and Anne, and three children.
Ingebrigt, Elias, and Olina.

PS to Mindy. Check the death records starting 1904. There you will find Elias Ingebrigtsen. 1906 is Anne Marie Eliasdtr. and a person of interest to me: Martinus Eriksen Ljöen died 1906.

Ole Helseth and Synøve Voldsether arrrived in Philadelphia, April 22, 1890. They left Liverpool April 9th, 1890.
The ship is S/S British Prince.

Ole is passenger #242. His manifest name is Helseth, Ole, age 21, citizen of Norway, a Laborer, going to Minneapolis.

They had trouble with Synøve's name. She is passenger #468.
Her manifest name is: Naldsater, Son Age 33, Citizen of Norway, Spinster, going to Minneapolis.

Mindy, or whoever can read Norsk, I need some help reading a birth rocord for Elias, born 28 January 1838. Top of the page. Looks like the Father is Ingebrigt ????? Helseth. The mother looks like Ane Marthe Rasmusdtr.

The father is Ingebrigt Eriksen and mother Ane Marthe Rasmusdatter. You will also find them at the Heleset farm in 1865.

Thank you all for the wonderful information. You truely brought tears to my eyes. I can't believe I know where we come from. I wish my father was alive to read this. I recently found Ole and Sine graves in Mpls MN There was to much snow to see, but I know they are their.This just is unbievable to have this information. Thanks again. Mindy

I just located the death certificate for Ole Helseth 1903 it does not say much, where would I look for the information you asked me about? This is so exciting thanks. Also how would I find out if I still have family living there today?

Maybe a lookup in the yellow pages could be a help for you. Look for persons with last name Helset and living in Hellesylt.

Jørgen Helset lives on the Helset farm in Hellesylt as of today. He's in his 30's.
