Hopkins, Looking at the children of Aanon Aanonsen's first marriage, he had a son Aanon born 1788. A search of the 1801 census turns up a Aanon Aanonsen 13 yerars old living as a foster søn on the Stranda Under Asdal farm. One of the ones you found associated with Vrengen. One of the difficulties with the Stranda Under Asdal farm is that over 300 names are listed there in 1801, must have been a very large farm.

Looking at the bygdebok for Øtestad and for the Øvre Løddesøl farm, I think that Aanon Aanonsen Løddesøl is not the father of Lars Aanonsen Brastad. Aanon Aanonsen Løddesøl 1764-1798 was married to Anne Gjerulsdatter Nevesdal and had three children Karen 1791, Aanon , 1793 and Anne 1796. No Lars is mentioned in the bygdebok. and his father is Aanon Nielson.
Our man is Aanon Aanonsen Vrengen 1764-1800, married to Berte Taraldsdatter and children of Tarlad Sep 1792, Lars, July 1797, and Signe, Aug 1800. And so far father unkown.

I've tried before to get you to look at the 1764 birth record for Aanon Aanonsen which was listed in Øyestad parish records. It is right there!!! In the parish church books.
It is also listed in the International Genealogical Index (IGI) at familysearch.org -- AND if you take the time you'll find his parents listed with the births of at least 11 babies between 1748 and 1772.

I give up.
