Could a passenger on S/S Domino leave Trondheim on Mar. 14, 1889 and connect with an Allan Line steamer (Parisian) leaving Liverpool on March 14 (seems unlikely), or Siberian on March 15? Next Allan line ship (Peruvian) left 3/28. Also, these ships shown as arriving in Halifax. Would they have continued on to Quebec or would passengers have left in Halifax? I have tried several times to find my grandfather in Quebec passenger arrival lists for 1889 without success, but many pages are unreadable. Answers to above questions may help me decide to look elsewhere, give up, or try again. Thanks

You should add ate least 4-5 days from the departure from Trondhjem. The Domino used about 3 days from Trondhjem to Hull, then there was one day spent to cross from Hull to Liverpool by train, and in many cases the emigrants had to stay in Liverpool for several days before the transatlantic steamer departed. You can see a list of corresponding ship on this page: Corresponding ships for the S/S Domino journey 1889-03-14 Trondheim - Christiansund - Aalesund - Hull, note that we have confirmed connects for passengers leaving on 3 ships, and the most likely arrival to America according to that is ca. March 31 or April 1. What information do you have to support that he traveled with the Allan Line?

The DigitalArkivet "Emigrants from Trondheim, 1867-1930" shows the family using the Allan Line. Problem is that many pages of the film for 1899 Arrival Records (Quebec) are essentially blank.
