Census-1880 for Spink, Union, Dakota Territory.

Census-1865 for the Solem farm in Orkdal, Sør-Trøndelag.

Emigration on the bark Franklin on 28 Apr 1870. Destination Quebec, Canada:
Arnt Torgersen Solem (54)
Berit Jørgensdatter (46)
Thomas Arntsen (16)
Johan Arntsen (12.5)
Ingeborg Arntsdatter (9.5)
Anne Arntsdatter (4)

Berit Jørgensdatter was his wife at the emigration, so he must have married Dorthea J. Scott in the 1870's in the US.

Arnt was baptized June 18 1815, see top of right hand page here
his parents were Torger Fredriksen and Ingebor Olsdatter Kaarstad.
In 1801 Torger was with his mother and her second husband, see here
Arnts wife Berit Jørgensdatter was born June 21 1823, see #25
her parents were Jørgen Petersen and Ane Lorensia Olsdatter at Engen.
Jørgen and Ane Lorensia were married Oct 4 1813, see #10

From what I am reading, did Arnt have four children? I only am aware of Anne. I don't know anything about Johan and Ingeborg. And am I reading this chart right? Does Torgen have two sisters Marit and Ane and one brother Niels from what father? And was Fredrik the son of Loden Olsen? And was Ingebor's second husband Loden Olsen and if so why does it show Marit Nielsdatter. Maybe you will have to translate what some of these words mean in this chart. I do thank you so much for finding all this for me. I am just starting this search and don't know how to get to these resources. Again thank you.

Sorry about my being confused. I figured it out except I would like to know if Arnt had any brothers or sisters. Thanks

Here is the English version of the Emigration record. I wasn't able to include Anne, she is on the "Next" page.

In the 1801 census you find
2571 Løden Olsen 59 years old, 1. marriage, husband to
2572 Marit Nielsdtr. (Nielsdatter) 47 years old, 2. marriage wife
2573 Torger Frideriksen Deres børn, actually Hennes børn (her cildren from the marriage with Friderik Torgersen - he died 1891 47 years old) 23 years old, not married, Soldier
2574 Marit Frideriksdatter 18 years old
2575 Ane Frideriksdatter 16 yars old, not married
2576 Niels Frideriksen, 11 years old
2577 Friderik Lødensen 5 years old, this was their child - Løden Olsen, Bierkager and Marit Nielsdatter - they married Nov 1 1792.
Naming practice: call up the first son in a new marrige after a deceased husband.
Finding Arnts brothers and/or sisters if there are any is time consuming.

Torger Frideriksen Haarstad and Ingebor Olsdatter Gunnes married Trinity Sunday = May 27 1804, see Trenitates Søndag
Torger was baptized on 16 Sunday after Trinity = Sept 14 1777, see last line left hand page and continue on top of next page here
Ingebor Olsdatter at Gunnes in 1801 was a servant 14 years old, see 3665
she should have been born approx 1787 - there was 2 Ingebor Olsdatter born that year, but only one of them in Rennebu - we can probably assume that she is the right one, see Uægte
baptized June 17 1787, father Ole Larsen Kosberg and mother Kiersti.
