I'm looking for information on Lars Knutson (originally Knudsen) and his wife Elizabeth Marie Hansen, who emigrated from Kristiania in 1883 with their children. They lived in Marshalltown, Gilman and South Omaha. Marie died c. 1888, Lars may have died sometime after 1910. Two of their children emigrated to Canada (Axel and Sigurd).

I am trying to find more information about the descendents who remained in the U.S. Any information is greatly appreciated.

What were their birth years? Were they married before or after they emigrated from Norway? Where those two children born in Norway? If yes, what years? When did the two sons leave the US for Canada?

Marshalltown is in Marshall County, Iowa.

1883 emigration recorded from Kristiania (Oslo) lists 4 different men named Lars Knuds. of varying ages from 18 to 39 and a possible fourth using a farm name who is 42. Only one is listed as married and he is not listed with his wife registered on the same day.
Additional identification information is recommended.

An Axel Knuds. is listed in 1883 emigration from Kristiania. He is 11 years old and leaving that port on the ship Rollo for the first leg of his trip to"Grinell" with his mother Marie and 3 siblings on or about 17 Aug 1883.

Grinnell is a town in Poweshiek County, Iowa.

The married Lars Knuds. that I mentioned in the earlier posting also lists a destination of "Grinell". He lists a sailing date on or about 22 June 1883.

Axel Knudsen appears as a small child in the 1875 census for Kristiania (Christiania/Oslo) with his parents and one sister. That census lists the birthplaces for both of his parents.
