I am looking for any information on Eli Pedersen. Her baptism was in 1891 and it was recorded in 1892 with her confirmation in 1907 in Alstadhaug. Some papers list it as Alstahaug. Her birthplace may have been a place known as Skaeggesna but we are not sure of that.

Any help would be much appreciated.

This should be Eli in census-1900 for Skjeggesnes farm in Alstahaug, Nordland.

Note that the spelling is Alstahaug and should not be mixed up with Alstadhaug, which is located in Skogn/Levanger in Nord-Trøndelag.

Let's try this on for a starter. Her name should be Eli Edvardsdtr, as her Fathers name is Edvard Marthinius Pedersen, and the Mother is Indgeborg Mathisdtr. (My name spelling could need some corrections. See the bottom section for girls: #16

She was born 26 July 1891, christened at home(Ithink) 28 July 1891, adn baptized at the church 17 July 1892.

The records are from Nordland and the residence looks like Skjeggesnes.

Thank you both for such a quick response. Based on some other information I have that I did not tell you it looks like you both gave me the reliable information I needed to get started. Thank you both very much.

There has been some confusion over the Alstadhaug versus Alstahaug spellings and now we are clear. Also, we were not completely sure which version of her name to pursue but it looks like Eli Edvardsdtr.

Thanks!

Eli was baptised at home, the note says "hjemdøpt af Gjordemoderen Tina Sperstad" - i.e. the midwife.
When Eli was confirmed her parents are said to be Edvard Mathias Pedersen and Ingeborg Mathiasdatter (at the baptism is recorded Edvard Marthinus Pedersen and Ingeborg Mathisdatter) see #3
Ingeborg was an "uægte" child, born Febr 12 1855 in Skatvold, Nord-Trøndelag, and baptized Ingeborganna April 1, see #56
her father was Mathias Ingebrigtsen Ulsæt and her mother Lisbeth Larsdatter.
Ingeborganna was a fosterchild in 1865, see here
Most likely Lisbet Larsdatter in the same household was her mother and Lars Sivertsen and Ingeborg Pedersdatter her grandparents.
Confirmed by the confirmation record, see Elisabeth as #37

How would I go about finding any information on the Skjeggesnes Farm? I have been trying to find anything on the internet and can only find more genealogical names but no information on the farm.

Also, am I correct that an "uægte child" is an illegitimate child (her parents were not married)?

Yes, an "uægte" child was born out of wedlock.

The farm picture below is from August 2002.

Darrin, you can expect to find information about that farm, it's residents and the surrounding area in the published book(s) about the history and genealogy for that parish/district.
