I find this in LDS records:
Mabel Emma Borresen Born Nov. 27. 1886 in Macay, Queensland, Australia, parents: John Borresen and Mina Isaksen. Mabel Emma married in 1907 to Charles Robert Down born 1885 in Stawell, Victoria, Australia.
Mabel Emma Borresen died 1966.

I am now convinced that the marriage certificate for Hilda Borresen has errors on it. Where the mothers name is listed as also being Hilda, I now believe it be Mina Isaksen, as Hilda's daughter was named Mina also. I have contacted Mabel Down's family and have found out that Hilda had two sisters - Thelma and Mugda and a brother - Yelma. All. except Mabel were born in Norway. I can now follow this up here in Australia, but would like to thank all of you for all the information that you have given me. Have a good life,
Leigh

Now it looks like "Tampen brenner" we are getting near the mark.
The family in the 1865 and 1875 census for Oslo in the former postings looks like beeing the right people, and they emigrated between 1881-1886, but how did they travel to Australia from Norway, via England?
Even the records for Oslo are numberous, there are not many that are of interest, I am hopeful to that your Hilda Louise will be found likely born between 1880-82.
Remember the names are not common, it would surprice me a lot if there were another John Bĝrresen married to Mina Isaksdatter (her father´s first name was Isak and she was born 1849 in Ċs parish in Akershus county, a nearby county to Oslo.

Born: 12 NOV 1869
Christening: 09 JAN 1870, Oslo Domkirke, Oslo, Akershus
Parents: Seaman & bachelor Johan Augustinus Borresen & girl Mina Marie Isaksen
Source: Oslo county, Oslo Domkirke, Parish register (official) nr. 17 (1869-1878), Birth and baptism records 1870, page 58.

Nina Marie
Born: 20 FEB 1877
Christening: 15 JUL 1877, Paulus Menighet, Oslo, Akershus
Parents: Seaman Johan Borresen & Mina Marie Isaksen, Markveien 32, Oslo
Source information: Oslo county, Paulus, Parish register copy nr. 1 (1875-1878), Birth and baptism records 1877, page 81.

Thelma, Mugda and Yelma are not norwegian names...
I guess Thelma or Yelma could be Selma Bernhardine, the girl born 12 NOV 1869

Johan Augustinus Bernard Bĝrresen and Mine Marie Cypriansen were married Jan 20 1872 in Gamle Aker Menighet, see #5
Interesting to note that witnesses at Nina Maries baptism was Mina Maries mother Helene Isaksen and her brother Oluf Caroleus Olsen.
At Selmas baptism Mina Maries other brother Oscar Isaksen was one of the witnesses.
