Hi, I know this is a really long shot but I have exhausted every other avenue! My mother-in-laws (Audrey) father was a merchant seaman on the Norwegian shipping line somewhere. His name was Andreas and he had a daughter (Audrey) with a woman called Kathleen Nora Dickinson. They never married. he apparently tried to take the child back to Norway with him and there was a courtcase regarding this but as Audrey was a british citizen, he failed to do this. He left payment for her upbringing for 16 years- paid upfront and Audreys mother would collect £2.00 every week/month? from the Norwegian shipping line office at Surrey docks. This all happened at around 1901. As I said, this is a real long shot but if anyone has any info on this or who I could get in touch with to find out more, I would be very grateful.
Regards Bev
