Christopher Eriksen was born Febr. 12 1843 and baptized March 5, his parents were Erik Olsen and Dorthe Mattisdatter at Gjerøienmyr. Was there any other sibling (brothers and sisters) that was born before Christopher or after he was born.

Hopkins posted 22/04/2008 the 1865 census for Gjersøynmyr - two daughters were posted - Maria 16 and Oline 12
Oline was born Aug 17 1854, see #178
Maria was baptized Dorte Maria, she was born May 20 1850, see #91
-in the 1865 census is noted that she was mentally disturbed.

For their son Ole (born March 20 1833) i tried to find details about him on the cencus 1865 but were not successful. By now at the age of 32 he will not be residing at the family farm. My second try was finding the year the parents died but again not successful. By searching on the cencus i tried the farm name Gjersøynmyr but has also no luck of finding more detail of the family.

Ole Eriksen (32) was Husman med Jord at Sæterhougen farm, married to Marte Olsdatter (37) and had two children in 1865
He married Marte Dec 13 1857, see #27
he was then 24 years old and his father was Erik Olsen from Gjersøienmyr.
Cottars widow Dorte Mathisdatter died March 6 1878, see #7 at the age of 68 years.
Her husband Erik Olsen died Dec 27 1869, see #8
he was then 76 years old. They both stayed at Gjersøienmyr until their death.

They were married in May 1871 and left for NZ in Dec 1871, what happened to each of them between 1865 and until they married in 1871 is a big question - no info on where they were living at the time of marriage.

According to his death record he was born in 1793, but in the marriage record he is said to be 28 years old in 1830 - born in 1802 then. Which one of these dates to rely on is difficult to say, especially since Erik Olsen was a very common name.
I have not found the farm Aagaasrud either - and it is not certain that he was born there, maybe just worked there at the time of the wedding.
