I'm trrying to verify a lot of information on my g-g-grandfather, Knud Nielsen Himle from Voss - lineage, year or emigration, etc.

Terry - We need to have more information. When was he born? Did he immigrate to US? If yes, when? Where did he settle in the US?

It's a guessing game to determine even which CENTURY to check for records without some more information from you.

It's probably this guy:

Knut Nilsson Himle
Birth: 1801, Voss, Hordaland
Marriage: 1831, Voss, Hordaland
Death: 15 JUN 1883
Parents: Nils Larsson Himle & Brita Knutsdatter Dolve
Spouse: Marjo Kjelsdatter Helleve

According to LDS, Knut Nilsson Himle & Marjo Kjelsdatter Helleve had a son Knut:

Knut Knutson Himle
Birth: 1839 Voss, Hordaland
Death: Usa

Knud Knudsen Himle (#18) (b 16 Jan 1840) emigrated 06 Feb 1860.

I would guess Knut Knutson Himle ended up around one of these places?
Vernon, Dodge, Minnesota
Holmes City, Douglas, Minnesota
Deerfield, Dane, Wisconsin

If we assume that the Knud Nielsen Himle born in 1801 is the g-g-grandfather, I think that his wife and Knud Knudsens mother (the LDS "Marjo") is Maria baptized sept 27 1807, see the third Pig
from the top. Her parents being Kiel Knudsen and Anna (not Anno!) Hermundsdatter Groves.
Niels Larsen and Brita Knudsdatter were married April 16 1801, see 7th record from top
their son Knud was baptized Jan 1 1802, see 3rd record from top
Knud and Maria (Marjo) married June 14 1831, #39
Niels Larsen at øvre Himle in 1801
his father is 3323 Lars Nielsen - called Lars øvre Himle when Nils was baptized Nov 1 1770, see #1

Knut Nilsson Himle, born 1801 in Voss, can be found in the 1875-census for Voss, Hordaland. He was about 74 years old then. Are you sure he emigrated?
