Thanks once again for 'directing' me when I was not finding my own way to things. I did take a quick look at the Ship register for the 'Olaf', that the Grunseths came on & didn't see anything there. I think where the others are still gathering more oral history for this line & I now need to do some more document retrievals/that we let this line rest.
I looked once again at some of the records you & Eibache got for me, and saw things I missed the first time thru. I'm going to finish up the research on my other two lines and then come back here, so that I don't confuse myself again with the different counties. I'm still a newbie - best to move slowly thru the records.
I believe what the sexton really wanted was a 'nail down on death dates' for these folks more than anything. They have a mess as to how lots were sold & are having to go back thru old financial documents to determine if the purchase was for 1 plot or 1 block. Based on the $ value, they are finding some of what they thought was available is in fact owned. Everyone working ahead of me was so appreciated. I was able to give him correct info/sourced because I had worked ahead too getting dcs & obits, where there were no dcs. This is the history I wished to spend the most time on. The others I am working on as coop/efforts - best to stick to the deadlines.

Thanks once again for the lookup on Niels aunt and Jens' sister Ingri Nielsdatter. I only have one additional snippet of info, and that is that Oliva Peterson's maiden name was Aas, most likely Aasdatter. Not enough to do a look up on. Dear friend, is going to visit the parish for me and see if there is anything there, on her being taken into the church & the same for the Grundseths. Her husband Barney attended a different church, up until they married. Then he switched, it would appear, and joined hers. So there may be something meaningful in their records for her, where she joined the congregation while still single.
One side benefit for me, of the Sexton's problem is that his issue - may end up solving my search for the 5 Grunseth children, who died before their parents; but, are not in marked graves. Only the graves of Johan & Anne & their daughter Caroline ever had markers. But, given that most of the sales of cemetery plots, were for 8 gravesites. Most likely, all six children reside with their parents. This will need to be confirmed with undertaker records; there are no church records for the same, during that period. The first stop will be the date the plot was purchased. Financial records were better kept. Nailing the purchase date of the plot by the Grundseths, will serve as a good starting point to narrow this search. So once again helping the Sexton, may help me as well.

| Hi, since this is an old thread, and maybe many questions has been answered since 2008, I will just leave a short comment. Peter Peterson born February 1853, was born in Finnmark in northern Norway. When he was just 3-4 years, the family moved to the Tromsų area, still in northern Norway, but a bit furter south. I 1859 his parents bought a property in Hundbergan (2 miles from where I live) on the countryside outside the town of Tromsų. In 1875 they sold the property and emigranter to the US. Hanne-Rita |
