Can someone help me to find Isac Jacobsen Nordbø who emigated 1843 - 1846 from either Moland, Telemark or Landvik Aust-Agder. With him was his wife and 3 children. I don't know there names. He maybe had two brothers, <<<<<<<<nicolai and Mathias, who lived in Nissedal, Telemark, who emigrated in 1850. They had also stayed in Landvik for some years.

Any information is usefull.

Hi Knut,

In Norwegian Immigrants to the United States: A Biographical Directory 1825-1850 Volume Two 1844-1846 by Gerhard Naeseth on page 163 are many paragraphs about Isak and his family. They came on the Præciosa in 1845 and eventually settled in Fillmore County, Minnesota. This is more than I want to spend time retyping so drop me a line with your e address and I will scan and send jpeg of the info. You will also want to look at the digitalarkivet database for the church registers from Fillmore County, Minnesota and check www.usgenweb.com for Minnesota, Fillmore county resources.

Nordbø, Isak Jacobsen
Emigrated from Nissedal, Telemarken 1843 to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; was among the fist Norwegian settlers in Arendahl, Filmore County, Minnesota. He was also the first “Postmaster” there. His son Torger A. Jacobsen had a ”Gereral Store” since 1881 in Preston, Minnesota.

-if they did, their last son, 1 year old when they left on Preciosa, must have been born there.
Not found in the parish records.
