Just wanted to say thanks to all of you out there. Have great holidays, no matter how you celebrate them. From the help I received on this family I found out that I had a son listed as a daughter, boy what a mess trying to fix that. I ran a possible error report and have 68 pages to scan through. I am so grateful. Truly.
See you in a week or so.

Ingeborg married Ole Mathias Rye, she died 4/3/1930 in (Aske, Sandene?) Don't think that is possible, must be an error somewhere. Marte married Mathias Ask and she passed in December 1946, Also Aske, Sandene.

Understand the privacy protection. But is Aske, Sandene a place or just someone using the last name and farm name as place of death? Guess I got confused again. Thanks so much for the help. Again.

Aske is a farm in Vereide, Gloppen, Sogn og Fjordane. (In 1801 written Asche).
Sandene is also a farm in Vereide, Gloppen, Sogn og Fjordane.
Sometimes when two farmnames are given, one can be where the person was born, the other where the person was living at the time.

Do you have any information on the Sandene farm, current and past? I was told there might be a sort of castle on the land?

Thank you very much. It is. I spent a couple of days going through all the information that has been linked to me and now I understand that I should have gone over it sooner. I have a lot more questions, and will try to ask them a few at a time. I hope I am not too much of a pain. Thanks again.

The castle you mentioned could be Audunborg fortress at Hegrenes build about 1280 by Audun Hestakorn Hugleiksson in Ċlhus in Jĝlster parish south from Sandane, see the northern part of the county.

I have looked at all the information and have found out some interesting facts. I need to contact my cousin in Sande, Norway and get some more info. But thanks a whole bunch for all your help. I am researching all the info you have helped me with, learning to use the data bases and going through a lot of ink and paper. But this has inspired me to keep working and I thank you more than you know for your inspiration and help. I will have more questions, I am sure. Lots of "Gassameyrs" to find. The name Sandene (my direct relatives) was taken when they came to America. As you mentioned above, I do have that information and have contacted as many as possible for duplicate copies. Thanks again for the help and the very informational links. Have a good year.
