Hi,

My grandfather ( Harald Hansen) was taken from Wales to Norway as a baby in 1905/06 by a member of his family based in Ibestad Troms. Where can I find details of ships going back to Norway . Also his mother sailed to Norway in 1913 to take him to the UK where can I find details of her voyages ??

It was many ship lines sailing (round trip) from England to Bergen and Trondheim in Norway, perhaps not much help but it´s a start.

Ship lists Norway-England, sorry but no passenger list available for 1905 and 1913
If not a local ship was used along the coast, we can assume from Trondheim to Ibestad they sailed on Hurtigruten, dest. Harstad town close to Ibestad municipality.

Good luck.

Hi Rob, Harald Hansen was my Grandfather. I am Sarah Hansen Allwood, Sylvia Hansen's Daughter. I have heard a few stories growing up about the accident of his father that lead to why his mother stayed in Wales and remarried.Magnus Bertin Hansen (Hanssen) is actually buried in Swansea,S. Wales.I am not exactly sure where however both mum and dad have visited the grave but apparently there headstone and that is something we intend to put right on our next visit to the UK. I would love to get in touch and share information, Mum has a very large family.Harald Hansen had 9 living children in total, and there are many grandchildren, great grandchildren,great-great children, and etc. We are very large family spread out around the globe now.
