If you find any documents, please attach a link so I can use as a reference. Okay, here goes with all of the information that I have: Date: Approximately mid 1800s Location: Aurland (possibly Aurdal/Kvam
Jens Olson was probably born sometime around 1800-1820
Eli Olsdatter was about the same age. They had a son called Ole Jenson
They emigrated around 1865 (Ole had gone before).
Did they have any other children than Ole? Did Ole have a wife and children in Norway? Any reference for Ole and Jens emigration date/location? Thanks.

In the 1865 Norwegian census for Aurland, Sogn og Fjordane --

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=8&filnamn=f61421&gardpostnr=40&sokefelt=skjul

There are parish records for Aurland back to at least 1716 and a number of published local history volumes which you can research in.
"Aurland Bygdebok: fram til om lag 1920" by Anders Ohnstad; "Ĉttebok for Aurland fram til om lag 1900" by Anders Ohnstad and Anna Gjerlĝw; "Aurland Bygdebok: fra 1835-1985" by Anders Ohnstad; "Gardssoga for Aurland" by Anders Ohnstad.

The information is there for you --- enjoy your research

Jens Olsen (24) and Eli Olsdatter (21) were married Febr 12 1835, see #4 they were both at Winjum when they married.
Jens father was Ole Jacobsen and Elis father was Ole Thoredatter.
Their first son was Ole born May 2 1835, see #43
They also had a Jens in 1839, see #26
he must have died since they had Jens from the 1865 census later.

Jens Olsen Vinjum and Eli Olsdatter emigrated 1866 with 6.children #53-60
Anders Olsen Vinjum age 48, #61 could be Jens brother.

It was several emigrants from Vinjum in the early 1850s.

If I remember right Vinjum has been investigated earlier here in Norway Heritage.

Oh, my gosh! Thank you for all of this valuable information. I'm in the process of getting everything down and 'digested.' All of you are wonderful researchers and I really appreciate all of your work. I will get back as soon as I get everything recorded. Thanks again.
