I'm looking for Ole Olson Laatvedt and his father Ole Nielsen Laatvedt. Ole Olson was born in 1845 and was married to Anna Ambroson who was from Telemark.
Ole Nielsen was married to Siri Nielsdatter Houshevangen.
Any help??

Are you sure about the names?
Could it be Ole Nilsen you are looking for?
If he was born 1845 he must be working on another farm and had a younger brother Ole age 3 in 1865 or wasn´t Nils Olsen his father, was he born before his mother Siri Nilsdr. married Nils Olsen, then she was 17 when Ole was born.
A bit confusing the name Ole Olsen, his father was Ole.
The church records will most likely tell.
The reason I am asking is because:

I think they were from Hjelmeland municipality in Rogaland County, Ole had a sister Gundla, widow Siri Nilsdatter is Nils Olsens mother, Olene age 9 is her daughters daughter on Laatvet in 1865

Sorry if I am confusing you.

It could also be Anne Ambrosdatter Sauer born Sept. 10. 1846 to Ambros Gjermundsen Sauer and Ragnhild Johnsdatter #54
The same family on Sauer Sĝndre in 1865

I havn´t found the migration records for this family but Ambros Gjemundsen Sauer/Holte emigrated in 1866 with his son Ole b. 1844.

Ragnhild Johnsdr. emigrated with following children in 1867; Helge b 1828, Ragnhild b. 1830, Anders b. 1831, Anne b. 1846, Thone b. 1849, Anlaug b. 1852 and Sveinung b. 1854.

Sauer was sold in 1867 to oldest son Gjermund Ambroesn, see 1865 census, another son John takes over Holte.
Ole Ambrosen became a priest in Story Co. Iowa in 1869, later in Glenville Minnesota married to Margit Krohn, their son Carl was a priest in USA in 1927

I assume Anne Ambrosdatter abowe was wrong person.
Ambrosen/Abrosdr. was a very common name in Hitterdal

From LDS records; Ole Laatvedt married Anne Ambrosen born Mai 1. 1842 in Heddal/Hitterdal about 1872 in Binford, Griggs, N.D.

The closets I could get was:
Anne Ambrosdatter born on Haugen Mai 1. 1843 to Ambros Halvorsen and Ingeborg Torgrimsdatter Haugen under Aase, #29

Anne worked as a servant on Semb in 1865

Her parents in 1865 on Dalen

Her mother Ingebor died 1867, Anne Ambrosdatter Haugen age 26 emigrated with her father widower Ambros Halvorsen Dalen and brother Halvor Ambrosen Haugen June 4. 1869 #72-74-75 #73 Harald Haraldsen Haugen was likley a relative, via Oslo, dest. Osian on ship Oder

Ole Olsen Laatvedt born 26 APR 1845 in Hjelmeland, Rogaland should be the right one.
Anne Ambrosen born 01 MAY 1843 to Ambros Halvorsen and Ingeborg Torgrimsdatter looks to be his wife.

Take all the time you need Carol, no hurry.
There was no Anne Ambrosdatter born 1842 in Heddal so 1842 from LDS records is wrong.
From the same records: Ole died Nov. 22. 1898 and Anne died August 25. 1919.
This family goes back to Anund Rollevsen born about 1605 in Heddal.

It seems like SS Oder arrived Hull in England , next dep. port was Liverpool with another ship, dest. New York.
Could be dep. Liverpool June 23. or July 1. for New York

Anna Ambrossen (26) arrived New York on July 1st 1869, sailing on the S/S The Queen from Liverpool.
Source: New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957

Note: There was two Anne Ambrosdatter sailing on the SS Oder from Oslo that day. The other one was 22 yo and from Hjertdal, and going to Cedar Rapid with a lot of other Ambrossen's.
It's hard to tell which one is the "Anna Ambrossen (26)" on the S/S The Queen, because I can only find one of them on the July 1st arrival.
There are others from Hjertdal on The Queen, like Ragnill Ambrosedotter (8), who is listed just above the 22yo Anne.
Someone should take a look to see whom the 26 year old Anna Ambrossen is listed with, ie. whether her father and brother is listed with her.
I found one Anders Halserson (59) who could be her father widower Ambros Halvorsen Dalen

This is not your family Carol if you should wonder, Hjartdal is a neighbor municipality to Heddal.
No wonder it was many Ambros´s from Telemark arr. New York in 1869
Ragnil Ambrosdr. age 8 came from Skaardal in Hjartdal, the whole family emigrated 1869.
I´ll bring up the names for this family so they can be identified if anyone should came across them later.

Ambros Ambrosen Skaardal and wife Ragnild Ambrosdatter, both born about 1830, childern born: Ambros 1853, Ambros-55, Tone -57, Ragnild-60, Ingebjĝr-62, Gjermund-64, Andres-66.

Ambros Halvorsen was 70 when he emigratet, but we have experienced that wronspellings and wrong dates appears often.

Anne Ambrosdr. age 22 from Hjartdal was from Lonar born to Ambros Olsen and Ragnild Johnsdatter, Ragnild emigrated with 6 children on Oder from Olso 1869, it looks like her husband Ambros had emigrated earlier.

Hei !
Ole and Anna m. 21. nov. 1870 in Stavanger Lutheran Church, Military twp., Winneshiek co. IA (the stone church).
Ole arrived her about 1862 from Hjelmeland, Rogaland fylke, N. Later his brothers Sjur/Siver and Christen and sister Barbro arrived in the same area.
There is a familyhistorybook "The Laatvedt Clan" giving info. about this family. I.m sorry I dont have access to this book.

Who are you refering to?? I just brought up the other Anne (from Hjertdal) because she is about the same age (a few years younger), and left Oslo on the same date. Thus; there is some uncertainty about who this Anna Ambrossen (26) on The Queen is, since there is only one Anne Ambrossen listed on the July 1st arrival. That's why I said the original manifest needs to be checked out, to see whom she is listed with.
