I am looking for my great grandfather's listing on a passenger ship from Norway
to the United States in 1875 or 1876. He was born 13 Feb 1858 in Ringerike, Norway on ovre Haukedalen farm. Erick O. Haukedahl was married to Gertrude Quigne 5 March 1881 in Audubon, Becker County, Minnesota.

From Ringerike you'd expect that he probably travelled to Oslo/Kristiania to take his journey. There are online databases at the Digitalarkivet that include the emigrants for a time period who departed from that port.
Checked the database "Emigranter over Kristiania 1871-1930" for years beginning with "187", persons with first name starting with "Eri", male persons, persons with listed age that starts with the number "1". The database returned with 20 matches -- and among those was:

Erik Ols. Haukadalen

As you can tell from the articles about Norwegians travelling to America on this website - the record from Oslo/Kristiania lists the name of the ship that he took for the first part of his journey only.
