can anyone tell me how to find parentage of these ladies..I understand that maybe the father was called Nils..And how would they get from Skien to Hartlepool uk in the 1850s/60s

I expect this is a tall order ,

It would be beneficial if you could relate the year of birth to each one, and even better if you knew a date of birth, likewise were they born in Skien (or in case where) or did they just leave Norway for GB from Skien?

Many thanks for your reply....

The info which I have at the moment is that on the 1861 census UK.. Hannah was 26 and Mary was 24....born 1834 and 1836 or thereabouts..

On the 1881 census Hannah's place of birth was Skien , Norway...

I am waiting to see if a copy of Hannah's marriage cert has been obtained to confirm father's name of Niels Nielson..
